Do you feel like every guy you like eventually loses interest? I certainly used to. I remember wondering, "What's wrong with me? He seems to like me at first, but then he slowly fades away. What did I do?" Few things impact your self-esteem more than a crush that appeared friendly in the beginning, only to ignore you later. So, what do you do when it happens?
The Reason Why
There are multiple reasons why you may feel that a crush is pulling away. Here are some of the significant ones I've experienced and observed firsthand:
1. He's just attracted to you, but not into you romantically. Read The Survival Guide to Attraction.
2. You're just stuck in the phase of The Pre-Pursuit.
3. He saw the Switch go off. And he can see that you're Consumed.
4. You were acting like the Dominant Energy.
5. You are simply Over-Analyzing the entire situation.
Sometimes, the guy turns out to be a jerk, but it doesn't mean you're not guilty of any of the above.
The Solution
So, how do you stop him from fading away?
You don't try to. The fact that he's fading away should be a clear indicator that he either wants to play games with your heart or he really isn't interested in you. Neither are viable options for a healthy relationship. So, let him go.
If a guy wants to ignore me, I let him.
I won't get anywhere blaming myself or trying to pinpoint exactly what I did to cause his change in behavior. I honestly don't have time for that. You don't either.
Know your self-worth. Have some integrity and you'll go a long way--in life and in love.

ReplyDeleteGood idea for my next time! Now need to know how to get over self-humiliation and regain a gram of dignity! Especially when the bad boy can potentially divulge alot of sensitive info about the girl with devastating consequences!
ReplyDeleteYup! We can prevent a lot of the feelings of insecurity and low self-esteem!

Hi zabrinah, how do I deal with a guy who's fading away and he owes me some cash? Do I play nice until he refunds or I let him be?
