The Expiration Date

Have you ever dated a guy with an expiration date? You knew the relationship couldn't really go anywhere, but you went for him anyway. Society depicts this as a normal, okay thing to do. We call them summer flings and convince ourselves that we're just having fun. But how much fun is it when it's over and he's gone?

Never date a guy, fully knowing that it couldn't possibly work out between the two of you. When you date someone with an expiration date, you'll find yourself:

1. Convincing yourself. You make up a bunch of excuses.

2. Convincing your friends. By now, you've polished those excuses, and they're beginning to sound legit.

3. Worrying under the surface. As the expiration date approaches, the worry will get stronger. It will control you and destroy the little time you have with him anyway.

If you find yourself desperately attracted to a guy with a clear expiration date, investigate exactly why you're attracted to him. You may find that there is a lurking fear of long-term commitment that you're battling with. Or perhaps an issue of self-sabotage. Read Afraid To Be Happy (right HERE).

Love,

Zabrinah
