To Tide You Over

Z-note: Hey people! Life is busy, but a looooong weekend is coming up! What does that mean for you? Some much needed "blog-walking" on my part. And a bunch of posts in rapid succession. September may be over, but the What's Your Type Series! certainly isn't. I'm inspired everyday. I have some tricks up my sleeve. Some surprising topics for sure. For now, please continue to stay tuned for The Nerd, and then The Non-Commital Guy. They're on the way.

To Tide You Over

Until, I can finish up the next post, I'm going to leave you with a poem I wrote about two summers ago (before I deactivated my facebook account). I feel like this was the beginning of what would become How Not To Fall In Love.

Facebook

I see that it's easier for you

To write on my wall rather than

Talk to me face to face.

It's easier for you to flirt and chat and poke and

Find out where I've been and

Where I'm going and

Who I'm talking to.

This way you can look at

My photos, my videos, my comments,

Look at them all

And I will never know what

You saw.

You do this because it's easier for

You.

But it's easier for me too.

Maybe I don't want to see your

Face, your real face,

Or look at you.

Maybe I don't want to do something

As simple as pick up the phone and give

You a call.

Or even a text.

Or maybe I'm just bitter because

You chat with several girls at a time

But never get back to me First

Or Last.

I'm lumped in the middle of your

Facebook Flirting.

And sometimes it hurts.

All because it's easier for you.

And me.

Goodness, this brings back memories! Anyways, hope you enjoyed it. I'm just trying to tide you over as I get ready to ambush you with the rest of the continuing type series. I love you all, dearly.

Love,

Zabrinah

P.S.

Pop Quiz!

Based on the poem in the post, what type of guy do you think I was into?

A. The Undercover Pimp

B. The Talented Guy

C. The Douchebag

D. The Unattainable

E. All of the above

***Hint: There's no extremely obvious answer, just take a guess!

  1. Hi Zabrinah!
This is a great poem! I think it's E - all of the above. There are elements of all types to be found in it.
You know, maybe you can help me with something. I'm trying to decide whether to join Facebook or not (well I did join two weeks ago but picked up spyware and a slowed down computer followed so I deactivated the account. But people are encouraging me to reactivate it and I don't know what to do!). I'd be interested to hear why you deactivate your account and what your thoughts are on it.
    Thanks!
    Ann
PS And do keep on writing this blog! Your take on everything is fabulous!

  8. I think its C. But only because I think C sums up all the above. Each of these can't all be a douchebag, but a douchebag can be all of these. A douchebag is truly a special kind of loser. It's almost impressive. In a sick way.

  11. LOL. Great poem! I say your type was ... all of the above?

That poem makes me so glad I got married before I got a facebook account. And now, I have a "Love Hate" relationship with facebook.

  15. I'm guessing all of the above, although it could be A as well.

This poem is so true though. I can completely relate to it.

  16. I'm taking an guess, at all the above? that poem was so real and refreshing. i've never heard of facebook in that light when in reality it is completely, a wall post, a poke is more than that sometimes. loved the line "All becasue its easier for you. And me."
