What's Your Type?

I believe that we all have types (the kind of guy we’re attracted to) whether we want to admit it or not. So ... this month, the majority of my posts will be dedicated to deciphering and truly discovering what your specific type is.

Before you tell me that you already know the type of guy you’re attracted to, let me inform you of: The Type You Want To Have vs. Your Actual Type.



The Type You Want To Have


When meeting new people or talking to your friends, someone might ask you, “What type of guy do you like?” And usually, we respond right away. We know want to say, without ever giving serious thought to our answers. We say something like, “Someone who’s nice, funny, and has a great smile. Oh! And he needs to be able to cook.”



Yeah, all that’s great, but it doesn’t count as your type unless the majority of the guys you’ve liked/dated/and are currently into fit that criteria. In reality, your answer above is just a description of your ideal, or maybe even your basic standards (see that article here). But, we’re here to find out who you actually end up falling for at the end of the day. And whether you should be falling in love with that type of person in the first place.



Your Actual Type


Like I said in the intro, September is the month of the What’s Your Type Series. You may not be aware of who you’re actually attracted to until you read what’s to come. I’ve discovered so much about myself ever since I started talking to my friends about our actual types, and not just the traits we’d like to have in a guy. You’d be surprised to see all the negative issues we discard. And worse, the negative, overarching, factors we primarily fall for.



I’ve already covered quite a few types and they’ve gradually become the essence of what this blog is about. Just in case this is your first visit and you’re new to this blog, here’s a clickable list of some types I’ve already discussed:
