The Relationship In Your Head

Have you ever had an entire relationship with someone in your head? And you hardly knew him in real life? But in your mind, the two of you were dating, in a serious relationship, or even married. You’d see him and say, “That’s my hubby.”



No?



Confess. I guarantee you’ve done this in some form, unless you’re a human being that doesn’t daydream.

Okay. Have you ever reached the point where you thought it was real? You saw him and his actual girlfriend, and wondered, “What’s going on here? He’s supposed to be with me! Oh. Right.”

Why on earth does this happen?

We hopefully have our ideals and our standards: everything we want our perfect man to be. I think that we place our hopes and expectations onto someone we don’t know well, and then run off to fantasy world. We want so badly for our ideal man to be a living, breathing person that we create him in the flesh, in place of someone who already exists.

So, I shouldn’t do this?

That’s up to you. Depending on how carried away you get, you could end up really embarrassed. I would make sure to avoid the relationships in your head with guys you could and shouldn’t fall for.
