How To Tell If This "How-Not-To" Is Right For You

Is this self-help blog right for you?

Here are a few guidelines to help you out...

1. Do you look like this picture below?

2. Have you ever gotten your heart broken, but you knew it was going to happen before it happened [see #4]?

3. When you're attracted to someone that's unavailable or so obviously not right for you, do you still see them as idealistically linked to you forever (ie... marriage, having some babies, living together, walking around campus holding hands, owning a company together, shopping together ... etc)?

4. When you know someone's not right for you, do you fall for them anyway?

5. Does falling for this person take up too much of your valuable time?

6. a) Does it make you happy when people think you're in a relationship with someone who's just your friend or even an aquaintance?

    b) Do you let them think you're more than friends?

7. Do you want to be in a relationship where you love someone fully and they love you in the same way?

If you answered yes to any or more of these seven questions, it's time to learn How Not To Fall In Love. I'll help, but trust me, I'm learning with you.

DISCLAIMER: THIS BLOG IS NOT AGAINST LOVE.  Love is awesome and wonderful and fully encouraged. This how-not-to is about avoiding embarrassing mistakes. It's about owning up to the fact that you like someone you shouldn't (someone you will hurt you later or is already in a relationship) and figuring out a way to retain command over your feelings and use that energy to do something positive in the world.

But don't worry, I love you.

Love,

Zabrinah

  1. In the past I was guilty of # 3. I wish I had a blog like this then then I would have guarded my heart. I did not get into a relationship with the guy but my mind surely went a stray.

  2. I am so guilty of all of these--just had my heart broken--I really liked this guy, hoped and wished he liked me back--but once again, I was just a "great" friend. I put so much into liking him and trying to get him to like me. Now I just have to get over him and learn how to just be friends.
